School Meals
Montpelier High School uses the online system Parent Pay, which enables parents/carers to pay for items such as school lunches and breaktime snacks (tuck) through their child’s ID card, which is issued in September. Parent Pay is also used to pay for school trips and events. Information on this, together with log-in details, will be provided to you in September. Your child will be able to buy lunch during the first week of school regardless of whether your Parent Pay account has been set up. After this, students will be allowed one day's lunch if their account is in debt. Please note; only parents/carers can set daily payment limits on their child's account via Parent Pay; the school cannot do this for you.
Free School Meals
Your child may be entitled to school meals if you get any of the following:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
If you do not qualify for most benefits (also known as having ‘no recourse to public funds’), your child may still be eligible for free school meals. Please contact the school office for advice.
Frees school meals at MHS are provided by Bristol City Council (regardless of which part of Bristol you live in). The online application form can be found on the Bristol City Council website by clicking here. We also have paper forms in the school office.
Uniform Financial Assistance
Our Sponsors, The Society of Merchant Venturers, provide the school with an Endowment that is used to support families in hardship to meet the cost of uniform. Priority will be given to families in receipt of Free School Meals. Please click here to apply for financial assitance with school uniform.
Class Charts
We use a website called Class Charts to set homework, and record positive and negative behaviour. You will be sent an inviation code to log in once your child has started school.
